Here at Onward Ranch we like to use Instagram because it is so visual. We want to communicate through our pictures and have found this to be a unique way to share our surroundings on the ranch.

We see beautiful things every day that stop our hearts and freeze a moment in time. We want to share these great ranch moments with you folks.

Here on the ranch we get to see tender moments with our livestock, the seconds old newborn baby with its mother. See as the cow herd spreads out single file down an old dirt road while we’re on horseback or we get to see the first new snow sitting on our barn roof with our milk cow waiting for her morning grain.

We feel so luck that we get to connect with nature and that we also love sharing. Ranching is more than just livestock; we love this land that allows us to witness nature in its raw form.

So many things to see, a flock of sand hill cranes flying overhead, the exact shade of yellow leaves dripping over the San Jose river, a baby loon nestled on its mothers back as she swims on one of the ranch lakes.

And then there are the moments with our ranch kids, tiny Ivory hugging the milk cow’s baby Honey, little Jeremiah digging up carrots with his hands and munching with the dirt still on them. Saddling up with Lucia and scarlet and chasing cows with their laughter echoing along the trail.

As ranchers we get to witness so many sunrises and sunsets, spending many hours outside while the rest of the world sleeps.
